Brookfield Community Partnership's
Old Town Hall BALLROOM DANCING RETURNS TO THE BROOKFIELD OLD TOWN HALL
Join us for a series of ballroom dancing lessons this summer at the Brookfield Old Town Hall and help to support the building renovation project.
Maybe you participated at some point in the last few years, or maybe you are new to ballroom dancing. Maybe you're craving ballroom dance lessons, or maybe you're a little timid...If you belong to any of these categories, here is an offer you may not want to miss...
THURSDAY EVENINGS FOR BALLROOM DANCING! Join us for 5 ballroom dancing lessons, where you will learn the basics (and maybe more) of 5 different ballroom dances. Classes are scheduled for 90 minutes, giving you plenty of time to learn, to practice, to dance! Each class will begin with a half-hour to practice last week's dance (or learn new dance moves from Carolyn). This review/practice time will be followed by an hour lesson on a new dance.
Each class begins promptly at 7 PM and ends at 8:30 PM.
THE DATES AND DANCES June 14 - The basics of ballroom dancing, plus a FOX TROT lesson. June 21 - WALTZ July 5* - CHA CHA July 12 - SWING July 19 - AMERICAN TANGO
*The July 5th class may be repeated on Thursday, July 26 if we have dancers who cannot attend on July 5th, due to the holiday that week. Please let us know when you register if you need to attend the July 26th make-up class for Week 3 (cha cha).
(We are skipping Thursday, June 28th because we have another event scheduled for that evening.)
THE INSTRUCTOR Carolyn Pedrick returns for her fourth year as our dance instructor! Carolyn is a professional ballroom dance instructor. She and her husband Bill coach the UVM ballroom dance team. Please visit their website dancesport.com to learn more. Carolyn Pedrick is a pro with a delightful sense of humor.

FAQS 1. Who comes to these classes anyway? A: We have had teenaged couples, gal-couples, couples in their 70s. We've had the timid and we've had the brave. 2. What should we wear? A:Casual clothes, for sure. Some of the ladies choose to wear skirts and dresses. Some don't. (It can get warm inside.) We recommend shoes with leather soles, but sneakers seem to work okay, as well. We don't recommend flip-flops or bare feet. 2. What if we get tired? A: We have tables and chairs for those who want to take a break. 3. What if we get thirsty? A: Feel free to bring water bottles or the beverage of your choice. We provide glasses. We sell bottled water at a nominal price.
Remember - the registration deadline is June 1st. Don't wait to let us hear from you!!
Best regards,
The Brookfield Dance Team
