On April 13, 2020 the Brookfield Selectboard voted to move the 2nd payment due date from May 2, 2020 to June 20, 2020. I will have the office window open for May 1st from 4:30-7:00 p.m. and Saturday May 2nd from 9:00-1:00 for those who prefer to pay in person. Hopefully it won’t be raining that weekend or snowing!

The General Election polling location will be at the Old Town Hall at 93 Stone Road due to the Brookfield Elementary School not being available for use due to COVID 19.
The Town Office will be closed. Anyone wishing to drop off ballots will need to go to the Old Town Hall. Please do not drop them off at the Library or in the Library drop box. They may not make it for counting.
Dog registrations are due! please send in a copy of any new rabies certificates. The cost is $9 for spayed/neutered dog or $13 for non-altered dogs.
Brookfield property taxes are due Saturday, May 1st. Please continue to mail in your payments. You can also pay during normal business hours. My window is now accessible again with most of the snow pile gone. Office hours are Tuesday-Thursday 8:30-4:30. The door is not locked but if you choose to come in, as with all other businesses, a mask is required and I am limited to 4 people in the office at a time. I will have additional hours on April 30th from 4:30-7:00 p.m. and May 1st from 9-1.
The Brookfield Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on June 23, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Brookfield Town Clerk’s Office on Ralph Road to review Rules of Procedure and Ethics.
The Brookfield Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on June 30, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at 3286 VT Route 65, Brookfield, VT to review the following request submitted under the Brookfield Development Bylaws:
Stephen Reid requested a potential variance under Section 3.10 of the Development Bylaws. The proposed variance would be for construction of a 860 Square foot addition on the property owned by Josey Hastings and Gabriel Archdeacon located at 3286 VT Route 65, Brookfield, VT with less than the required setback established under Section 2.1(E)(4) of the Bylaws. The Board of Adjustment will need to review the proposed site plans, with a site visit scheduled for June 30, 2021 at 6:00p.m.
Copies of the application are available for review at the Brookfield Town Clerk’s Office. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Special Election as voted for at Town Meeting 5/22/2021 for 2 additional Selectboard Members. Will be held at the Brookfield Town Office, 40 Ralph Road from 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
The Brookfield Board of Civil Authority will be reviewing the voter checklist as required by State Statute, every odd-numbered year, before September 15th. (17 V.S.A. §2150(c)). The Board will be meeting at the Brookfield Town Office on Sunday, August 29th at 9:00 a.m. This is open to the public. Masks and hand sanitizer will be required if you plan on attending.
