Thank you, thank you from Brookfield

The Brookfield Floating Bridge Celebration planning committee would like to thank all the volunteers, vendors, parade participants and guests who attended this weekend’s rousing celebration, ceremony, parade and musical events. Many told us that this was a wonderful event that brought cheer and fellowship to nearly everyone involved, with the kind of fun and friendships that are a heritage in our town.

Special thanks go to our the 3 musical groups who graciously brought harmony and foot-stomping to us for the two days, the Trailer Blazsers Band, The Bear Mountain Jammers and the Flowting Bridge Band (yes it’s spelled that way!), all Brookfield-based ensembles.

Also kudos for excellent safety support service from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, White River Valley Ambulance and Stockwell’s Auto Towing. And we kept the village pretty clean and comfortable with Haggett Trucking & Rubbish Removal and JB Portable Toilets. Thank you to our Selectboard, John Benson, Cory Haggett and Jeff Kimmel, for giving us the initial encouragement to organize the Celebration.

And we want to thank the Norwich University group of graduates, now commissioned officers awaiting assignment orders, who gave superb traffic/parking advice and support.

And, of course, thanks to all the generous organizations, business and people who provided financial support for the event. listed in our Brookfield Floating Bridge full-color history booklet (available below).

We still have a limited supply of commemorative materials for sale that honor the event:
