Brookfield Selectboard Meeting of May 18, 2015

Special Meeting
Selectboard: John Benson (Chair), Jeff Kimmel, Cory Haggett
Public Attendees: Teresa Godfrey (Recorder), Ray Peck (Road Foreman)
1. Call to Order:
Mr. Benson called the meeting to order at 5:35 p. m.
2. New Business:
On motion by Mr. Haggett, seconded by Mr. Kimmel, the Board voted to have the Highway Foreman, Ray Peck, contract with Treeworks to remove trees around town, negotiating at a cost of up to $36,550. The main focus of removal will be along Old Stage Road and trees in front of the Marvin Newton House. Vote 3-0-0
Mr. Benson signed the letter to be sent to property owners who live on private roads concerning replacement of private road signs. A signed copy of the letter is available at the Town Office.
On motion by Mr. Benson, seconded by Mr. Kimmel, the Board voted to execute the agreement with Agency of Transportation for the amount of $38,356.06 to bring the balance due from AOT up to date. Vote 3-0-0
The Board discussed Route 65 maintenance.
On motion by Mr. Kimmel, seconded by Mr. Benson, the Board authorized the Town Clerk, Teresa Godfrey, to review, approve, and sign a request from Ariel’s Restaurant to expand their liquor license area to include a “cantina” area on the right of the restaurant unless the Selectboard is required to sign. Vote 3-0-0
3. Adjournment:
On motion by Mr. Haggett, seconded by Mr. Kimmel, the Board voted to adjourn at 6:00 p.m. until the next meeting on May 25, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Vote 3-0-0
