MINUTES OF THE BROOKFIELD LIBRARY TRUSTEES, AUGUST 20, 2015
Present and voting: Amy Borgman, Dan Childs, Emily Noyes.
Present and not voting: Laura Rochat
We gratefully welcome Emily Noyes to the Board.
Minutes: Last months minutes are amended to reflect that Laura was present but not voting, and are now accepted.
Treasurer’s Report: Dan reports no significant changes to our financials this month.
Librarian’s Report: Laura reports that the Library continues to be active and busy with many patrons and borrowing of materials directly through the library and indirectly through our e-book program. She has the flyer, with Library information, ready for the Elementary School to be distributed to the students, as she has done previous years.
Old Business: The Book Sale was successful in that 300-400 books have been distributed into the community. Books that were not sold have been packaged to be sent to Better World Books. Several other boxes of books will be taken by Amy to be recycled.
Dan continues to be in touch with Mike Foran about his book choices. We would like to purchase and donate books in his name to the library to thank him for his time on the Board.
Amy has been in touch with Jeff Kimmel about the Library Use Guidelines. The basic guidelines meet the Library, Selectboard and Town Clerk’s approval and will be reviewed and accepted at the next Board meeting.
Our Energy Audit is still pending.
New Business: Amy will be in touch with Kym to see how the Spelling Bee is progressing. Kym will be tasked with notifying us of what the Board can do to help with this project.
